Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 May 2026

This policy explains what data devcalcs.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. We've tried to write it like a human, not a lawyer.

Who we are

devcalcs.com (the “site”) is operated by Noel Tovey-Grindlay (sole trader) (“we”, “us”), based at 24 The Croft, Downend, Bristol, BS16 5PU. For privacy enquiries, you can reach us at contact@devcalcs.com.

We are the data controller for any personal data processed via this site, as defined by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

What we collect

devcalcs.com is designed to collect as little personal data as possible. The site is a set of calculator tools that run in your browser — your inputs (pixel values, conversion settings, etc.) never leave your device.

We do collect three categories of data:

1. Anonymous analytics. We use Plausible Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate — which pages get visited, what country visitors come from, what device types are used. Plausible doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t collect personal data. No individual user is identifiable. Read more at plausible.io/privacy.

2. Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically logs basic technical information when you visit any page — IP address, browser type, referring URL, timestamp. This is standard for any website on the internet and is used to detect abuse and ensure the site stays online. Logs are retained for a short period and then deleted.

3. Advertising data (when applicable). If we display ads on the site, the advertising provider (such as Google AdSense) may set cookies and collect data about your visit to serve relevant ads. This only happens with your consent — see our Cookie Policy for details, including how to opt out.

We do not collect: your name, email, account information, payment data, or any other personally identifying information, because the site doesn’t have user accounts or any feature that would require it.

Why we collect it

  • Analyticsto understand which tools people find useful and where to focus future development.
  • Server logsto keep the site secure and online.
  • Advertising data (when applicable)to serve ads that fund the site, with your consent.

The lawful bases under UK GDPR are: legitimate interest (server logs and anonymous analytics) and consent (advertising cookies).

How we share it

We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it with anyone except the service providers we use to run the site:

  • Cloudflarehosting and CDN
  • Plausible Analyticsanonymous analytics
  • Google AdSense (when applicable) — advertising

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and processes data according to their own published practices.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access any personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Object to processing
  • Withdraw consent for cookie-based tracking at any time

In practice, because we don’t collect identifying information, there’s typically no personal data to access or erase. To withdraw consent for advertising cookies, use the cookie settings link in the site footer or clear your browser cookies for devcalcs.com.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@devcalcs.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we’ve handled your data improperly.

Data retention

  • Anonymous analytics: retained by Plausible according to their policy
  • Server logs: short-term retention by Cloudflare for abuse prevention
  • Advertising data: managed by the advertising provider per their own retention policies

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect data from them.
